Our Story | The Heart of Tre Sorelle

The Vision of Three Sisters Nearly 20 years ago, we discovered a modest cottage on Sonoma’s quiet East Side and saw something others missed: a direct connection to the vines. We named it Tre Sorelle—Three Sisters—for our daughters, Melissa, Hannah, and Sarah.

Back then, the girls were just teenagers. We spent countless weekends driving up to Sonoma, pile-driving through a renovation that would eventually span two decades. We didn’t just hire a firm and walk away; we acted as our own general contractors, overseeing every nail and permit.

A Labor of Local Love It wasn’t easy. Securing approvals for such a unique property, literally feet from a vineyard, required patience and a shared vision with the city. We were fortunate to work alongside talented local tradespeople—craftsmen who cared as much about the heritage of the East Side as we did.

Drawing inspiration from old California architecture, we reimagined the cottage from the foundation up. Our goal was to honor the landscape, a vision eventually recognized by the Sonoma Historical Society for the thoughtful restoration of a historic structure.

From Family Gatherings to Your Getaway As Melissa, Hannah, and Sarah grew from teenagers into adults building lives of their own, the cottage evolved with us. We replaced the old garage with a private casita, creating a sanctuary for extended family and friends.

Today, Tre Sorelle remains the heart of our family. It is where we gather for birthdays, holidays, and quiet celebrations. Between guest stays, you’ll often find us here together—pruning the olive trees, maintaining the bocce court, and ensuring the cottage remains in the pristine condition our family and guests deserve.

The East Side Experience When you stay here, you aren't just renting a house; you are sharing our family’s special getaway. Whether it’s morning coffee overlooking the vines or a long dinner under the Sonoma sky, we hope you feel the same peace and creative spirit that has defined this home for twenty years.
